The Children's Council was designed to encourage and support the involvement of children in our Church. We invite anyone interested in sharing ideas or being involved in the council to join us.

Roles of the Children's Council

1.Pray for children in our church, community and the world.
2.Be aware of the need of children, especially at Grace United Methodist Church and in our community.
3.Develop an understanding of our shared vision for ministry for/with/by children.
4.Advocate for programs, policies, funds, facilities, etc. necessary to fully minister to children in our church and community.
5.Evaluate existing programs and improve or cancel as necessary.
6.Look at the overall programming in the Children's Ministries. Help design, implement and coordinate fun programming.
7.Educate the congregation about the needs of children and their families. Help develop an appropriate congregational response to those needs.
8.Participate actively in ministries for/with/by children, and encourage others to participate.
9.Evaluate policies, facilities, and resources used b children for safety and quality.
10.Make recomendations to the Church Council on Children's Ministry issues as needed.
11.Communicate with staff members regarding ideas or concerns.
12.Meet as a council monthly or as needed.
13.Coordinate special projects as needed.
14.Proudly vocalize to others your role as a Children's Council member. Solicit their suggestions or ideas.
